We finally finished moving on Sunday. We have enough (mostly valueless) stuff that it took two full weeks to get it all moved. At least we finished before the really hot days hit this week.
Now, the unpacking…
Moving is hard, especially when I’ve made no effort to cull my possessions over the last 4-10 years.
The movers came in, looked around, and almost cried. Their list from the company showed less than half of what we had to move. In the end, they made two trips with their truck and two more guys (total of 5) came out and helped most of the day. At least they got most of the really heavy stuff. We paid plenty, but it was worth it.
I had the pleasure, though, of moving all the things they wouldn’t take or that I would rather they didn’t. Those include way more wine than makes sense and my computers, plus anything we didn’t have time to box up properly and anything that wouldn’t fit on the two truck loads. I’ve made a lot of trips and there are plenty of stairs on both sides of the trip.
